Gil Genn began his federal career as a Legislative Aide to U.S. Senator Birch Bayh. After years of law practice, Gil Genn was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates. He served 3 terms from 1987-99 with his District 16 colleagues, the current Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh and Maryland State Treasurer Nancy Kopp.
During his tenure, Gil Genn chaired the House Judiciary Criminal Justice Subcommittee and authored dozens of legislative initiatives, now law. The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) noted some as successful first-in-the-nation efforts. Prior to joining Bellamy Genn, Rylie was honored to work for the newly appointed Chairman of the Judicial Proceedings Committee, Senator William C. Smith, Jr. as his Legislative Director. In this capacity, Rylie worked diligently to advance the Chairman’s legislative priorities. Rylie worked closely with the Chairs of the Maryland Senate and House Committees, their respective key staff, coalitions, lobbyists, and advocacy groups.
Chantel is a graduate of The Duke Ellington School of Arts and The University of Virginia. She has provided strategic support to Bank of America’s Consumer Executive Team, Business Development with the Shakespeare Theater, and Sales and Marketing for the Northeast Region at Barnes & Noble Books. Additionally, she’s been an Instructional Leadership & Development Coach for DC Public Schools, Baltimore City Schools, the Archdiocese of New York City and Utah City Schools. She is currently working as the Executive Assistant to Lorenzo Bellamy at the Bellamy Genn Group in Annapolis, MD. She enjoys homeschooling her three girls, stage acting and spending quality time with her husband of 15 years.
